General Shopping

Amazon – By now this site is a household name. I recommend Amazon for price comparison. Sometimes prices can be cheaper elsewhere online or cheaper online than offline but it is always a good place to compare pricing or grab an item for fast shipping. Also, take advantage of the review system which is always a good way to get a general consensus on a products quality. I use it for Christmas time often to search for the latest or timeless age-appropriate toys.

Newegg – This is another common hotspot for electronics. I believe they opened up a warehouse in Indiana as well. I use this often to search for reviews on laptops and desktops. You will often have good brands having a bad model every now and then. Also, if you are on a budget and risky, they have an opened box/refurbished section.

Anti-Virus Programs

ESET Nod32 – I recommend this one for business computers. If you are wanting a family pack as well, it can be beneficial. It seems to pick up a lot more than other anti-virus programs from my observation.

Norton – Very common AV Program. They seem to try and really keep up with times and change their process and interface. I would like to see more malware blocking from them. One thing I am hesitant on is loading this on older computers. It can be resource heavy so newer computers would be ideal and may have the right price if you are trying to protect several computers.

Kaspersky – Kaspersky, in my experience, has been on the resource-heavy side. I will have to do more research on their recent programs but wanted to list it in case it is someone’s go to AV program.

Websites – Domains & Hosting

Shopify e-commerce Website – I plan on doing a more thorough report on ecommerce hosted shops. I like Shopify because of its price point on processing orders and is fairly easy to use. It comes with a 14 day trial and can be themed. If you are looking for good shop, this should definitely be on your top 5 choices.

Godaddy – This is one of the top players in the hosting/domain world. They do have cheap hosting if you are experimenting with a few ideas. Like other hosts and tv companies, they snare you with cheap rates for the first year and they go up a bit for the following years. You will often hear of them from their controversial superbowl ads.
